The Value of Yoga

“The practice has value when it is shared…. Yoga has value when you give it away,” Judith repeated to the roomful of 90 yogis, and I smiled.

Judith Hanson Lasater described perfectly my feeling about assisting her Relax & Renew restorative yoga teacher training this week.

When was the last time you realized that you were exactly where you were supposed to be? I had that experience today. I was in a room full of enthusiastic students and teachers, from all over the world, who are dedicated to learning how to increase peace and ease in themselves and others.

Although it had been a long, sweaty day of assisting poses, adjusting blankets, and answering questions, I felt deeply happy and satisfied.

It’s valuable beyond measure to offer what I know about restorative yoga with others who want to learn. And to learn, in return, from their questions and experimentation with the poses. We all give and receive, and the tools for growing wellbeing continue and spread.
