This morning’s Grow Yoga shout out is to LA Yogis!
Much appreciation to Chloe, in Los Angeles, who’s been sending me lovely messages with her thoughts about life and work as a yoga teacher/therapist. I find her words particularly insightful and want to tell you what she said to me, too:
this work has a very kinesthetic nature: the more you just start doing, the more that is revealed. just trust it and it will evolve beyond your expectation. no matter what, you will always still be learning.
Our work becomes what we have to offer. Just trust it and it will evolve beyond our expectations. I find trusting things to unfold often is the hardest part. And the most creative part. To sit with the questions, the not knowing, the darkness. This reminds me of this bit of an oft-quoted piece from Rilke’s “Letters to a Young Poet“:
Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves….
And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now.
And the beautiful response to Rilke, in Alice Walker’s poem, “Reassurance,” I must love the questions themselves, as Rilke said, like locked rooms full of treasures…. Here’s her final stanza:
and in the hourly making
no thought of Time
to force, to squeeze
I grow into.
Allow the time, the space to live the questions of your life and to grow into the answers. As Chloe said, no matter what, we will always still be learning. Namaste.
