Sometimes a movement practice is so delicious. Stretching toward ease, breathing awareness with emotion. Finding freedom. I felt the grace of a simple, inward practice this morning at home. And I wondered, grateful: How does one truly “teach” this freedom in the body? Beyond the form or sequence and inside the detailed actions and anatomy, pointing toward the gesture and essence of a movement. This can be taught, or at least offered, because I have learned it. Over the course of decades, with many generous teachers and slow, deliberate travels into embodied life. Practicing the “correct pose,” is one thing. Finding inner alignment is something else. More like opening doors, outstretched arms, unplanned time, improvisation on a melody. How do you feel freedom in the body?
